Work Trip to Langkawi Part 2 - 28 February 2009

I guess I didn't mention what work in Langkawi was all about. My first trip was to our satellite outlet at Telaga Harbour Park to take measurements for some signage we were supposed to instsll and also driving around to identify and photograph suitable spots to erect directional sign boards. This trip was for installation of signages at the satellite outlet. As per the last trip, I was on the first flight out at 8.30am on Malaysia Airlines while Calvin and his colleague flew on Air Asia via LCCT at 8.20am.

Sunrise over the runway at KLIA.. pretty cloud formations..

Flying over Penang - look closely and you can see the Penang Bridge.. Coming into Langkawi.. some of the 99 island of Langkawi.. it looked beautiful..

I met Calvin at the airport and we headed straight for the venue to start work. Since we were on a tight schedule, we didn't have time to stop for breakfast.

It was a nice sunny day and the marina looked great.. in a distance, the Mat Cincang Peaks where the Langkawi Cable Cars that we had visited the week before are.

Calvin and colleague completed their work on schedule and we went off to Pantai Cenang for lunch. We ran into participant of the "Langkawi Iron Man" triathalon, who were (obviously) on their cycling leg, on the way there.

I was pretty nervous every time we overtook a cyclist, fearing that they may get distracted and crash into the car but these people are so focused..

We got into Cenang and ended up eating at this place called Lan Kwai Fong..

I was hungry and settled for the set lunch, the fastest thing on the menu.. It was simple and tasty.. So, I was happy.. I had the belacan fried chicken with sweet and sour sauce with steamed rice, some kind of cabbage dish and what was kindda like a corn and seafood soup.. dessert was these yummy steamed cakes with pineapple filling.
A gaggle of geese.. They seemed to be on a mission to get somewhere..
Pretty bougainvillea arch to one of the makan places.. didn't get the name tho'..
Sweet memories of Mona & Ben.. The Beakfast Bar was where we all had our cross culture chanai and champagne breakfast after we finished with the registrar in Kuah.. and Bon Ton was where we stayed and the wedding reception was held..

We managed to do some shopping at the duty free shops at Cenang before heading to the airport. Calvin's flight on Air Asia was at 3.30pm while mine on MAS was at 3.40pm. Guess what? Calvin's fight took off on time and mine was delayed by 1/2 and hour! Malaysia Airlines, oh, Malaysia Airlines..

I got into KLIA at about 5.10pm and took the train to KL Sentral. By the time I got there at close to 6pm, I was hungry and craving.... KFC! So, KFC I had!
My KFC and Milo.. It was a good meal!
Took a cab home after my meal and pretty much just went straight to bed!

KLCC & KL Tower after the rain.. taken from KL Sentral
The pretty lights at this furniture store at Damansara Heights..
