We left PJ at about 9am and got to the gate leading up to the hill at close to 11am. Since the gate wasn't open to go up (the gate opens every odd hour i.e 9am, 11am, etc. to go up and even hour i.e. 10am, 12 noon, etc. to go down - which means one way traffic at any one time) we were able to get out of the car for a bit of a stretch.
The view of the dam on the way to Fraser's Hill..
Hanging around while waiting for the gate to open to go up to Fraser's Hill..
Again, we stayed at Pines Resort 'coz the apartments here are really great with really spacious balconies - perfect for barbecues! We reached the resort well before 12noon and despite the official check-in time being 2pm were were given an apartment almost immediately! Sweet!

The entrance of the resort.. The resident cat that came to say hello..

It was a nice, clear day when we arrived.. The good part was we got to check-in to our apartment almost immediately, the not so good part was that it was the unit w...a...y... on top. It was a bit a a climb but it was either this or waiting till 2pm!

That's how many bags I had going up! Mind you, clothes were only in the li'l black bag.. the rest were pressies, snacks & games for the kids.. The view from the balcony..

From the balcony looking into the apartment.. The boys going downstairs after checking out the master bedroom..

We had the present all laid out in no time - much to the kids' delight! And, lunch was served in equally quick time too.. Yum!

Luke, doing his impression of an elf.. Regular elf & cool elf (yes, those are my sunnies!)
Jade, also with my sunnies and those 'things' on ther fingers are not fake nails but are actually from my Chinese Checkers set.. How creative!

So we climbed, each grabbing as many bags as we could to ensure that we only needed to make 1 trip up! Phew! Aunty Connie had pre-cooked some beef stew and had it warmed up in no time while the rest of us unpacked.

The weather had changed dramatically by about 4pm and mist had started rolling in but the kids were determined to go cycling. So, James took 'em cycling for about an hour or so..

These pix were taken at 5-ish, after James & the kids returned from their bike ride..
And this one was at 6ish & it was beginning to get really chilly..
Actually, this is our 3rd time staying at Pines Resort and all the apartments here have fire places. The kids have always wanted to have a fire lit in the fire place. Uh-huh.. pretty, yes.. practical, no! Let's get real - it can get a tad chilly but not enough to warrant a fire in the fire place! Besides, we didn't have any (proper) wood to burn! So, we had a decent enough trade off - pretty & practical!

I think the kids were just happy that there was some 'action' in the fire place!
We had a package deal on the rental of the apartment - breakfast and dinner for 6 pax were thrown in. So, we had to make our way to the restaurant at the main building for dinner. I must say, dinner was simple - stir fried 'some kindda leafy green veg', deep fried fish, curry chicken and fried egg but it was ample and very tasty! The meal was finished off with fresh slices of 2 types of melons. So, it was all good!
With no church service to attend (there is no church at Fraser's Hill!), we then headed back to open our pressies.. The kids, especially Nigel, were happy!

Aunty Connie with her pretty earrings of amethyst set in white gold from Carol & James & James with his South Park Christmas boxers that he got from me in addition to the bottle of wine which, surprisingly, was NOT opened!

It was all books for Patrick - this one's from Carol & James.. A happy Jade seen here with her charm bracelet from her Uncle Pat

It was all books for Luke too but he was obviously delighted!

Nigel with his Naruto gloves from his grandma.. Not to be left out was Norma, Carol's maid, with her pressies..
That's me with a pressie from the kids - they had selected pix (I didn't even realise we had!) and put together (with loads of help from Carol!) a little photo album of sorts for me.. Sweet!

No pix of Carol with her pressies 'coz she had received all of 'em pre-Christmas.. Tho' I did get her a Body Shop bath product but I guess we didn't get a pix of her with it..
We stayed up chatting till about midnight and everyone pretty much just retired slight past..
