Work in Singapore - 21 November 2008

We all met at the lobby after breakfast at 9.00am to make our way to the Singapore Science Centre. Being an official visit, we had an appointment to meet personnel from the centre, including their CE, at 10.00am - we made it there in good time.

After all the formalities, the eager kids were taken on a tour of the centre. They had loads of fun! We broke for lunch at 1.00pm - lunch was at the MacDonald's on the premises. Their tour continued at 2.00pm, including a trip to Snow Town where they had so much fun it was quite hard to get them to leave!! We finally left at 4.00pm and headed to the Singapore Flyer.

The "Energy" area also features the Thunderbolt Show, which we didn't managed to catch.. but we did manage to watch the equally electrifying (please excuse the pun!) Tesla Coil demo..

The very engrossed group.. a mini movie on the environment.. as told by sheep..

The kids having a blast on the slope at Snow Town.. a rare pix of me with the penguins & igloo..

When we got to the Singapore Flyer, we didn't have to wait at all long to get on. I reckon it would've ben much nicer if we had gotten on at dusk.. Anyway, check out the pix taken at various heights..

Some artwork near the loo..

A reminder for all to make sure to visit the loo 'coz once up on the flyer, it's a good 30 minutes before you get off!

Then, we were off for our river cruise..

Unfortunately, I'd run out of battery just as we left the jetty for the river cruise.. aiya.. So, I dont have any pix thereafter.. aiya.. Anyway, after the cruise we headed to the Esplanade, where we got to visit the Library@Esplanade, which is a library that focuses on material on the performing arts, we got to see a small contemporary art exhibition at Jendela, caught a glimpse of the shopping and makan areas, the outdoor performances at the Outdoor Theatre and a quick look on the history of Esplanade at Passages.

Then, it was off for dinner! Yay! Dinner was at this Chinese Muslim place called... Rex something or rather.. The food was pretty good - we had Hainanese chicken rice, hot plate Japanese tofu, stir-fried mix vegetables and sweet & sour fish, which I finished off with a nice cuppa tea! Full and tired, we headed back to the hotel and got there at close to 10.00pm! Man..., I was so tired, I fell asleep before I knew it!
