January 2009... Duh.. what happened?

New Year's day came and went, marking the beginning of a whole new cycle called a year.. So, you're all geared up for the new 2009 and.. wham! January does a hit and run on you (at least it did me!) and you wonder where all the time went!

I started off the new year (literally!) by doing a lot cleaning and re-organising of my apartment and I'm pretty pleased with the results thus far. It was not something that I had planned to do but I'm glad I'm doing it (it's a work in progress!) Work's been busy.. and don't expect it to slow down over the next 8 - 10 months but.. I have holidays in June and October to look forwad to.. there's my silver lining!

Looking back at some of the pix that I'd taken over the month, some of them seem so long ago I didn't even remember taking them! Here's part of my January in pictures..

Breakfast with the girls.. 4 January

Iris, Joelynn and I had planned to meet up at least once in every couple of month but, alas, that was not to be in 2008 (we did well in '07 tho'!) Even trying to meet up for our regular Christmas makan cum gift exchange was a feat,
but we eventually did! It was very brief, over breakfast at Papa Rich in PJ but good that we got to catch up..

The pre-CNY jam on the LDP.. Whoa! Pre-CNY Lion Dance at Giant Kelana Jaya..
the good part was it was there... right in front of me and I could catch the performance from within feet.. the bad part was it was there.. right in front of me, blocking my path into the supermarket, which was also within mere feet! Haha..

We were sitting by the window at the foodcourt on a nice sunny afternoon and noticed the fountain doing things we'd never seen before.. Have we been less observant or is someone at "fountain controls" going cazy with the fountain?? Haha..

This pix was taken at Dino Dance, one of the exhibits at DinoTrek 2.. Basically, you do the dance, take your pix and send it to your email.. Cool, neh?

The Bioshpere..

.. seems to be thriving.. it's quite mesmerizing when you view it from the bottom up...

Cute signage at Carol's..

Seen at Cold Storage.. the name's probably a combo of chocolate + bits but at a glance it looks more like chocolates for hobbits! Haha.. The pretty label on the blouse that I got Aunty Connie for her birthday..

What would my monthly blog entry be without some animals? At the very least, it would be my own li'l kitties, but this month there's more..

The very adorable Ah Loong Jr.. James' very kay poh arowana! Very much like Ah Loong Sr, he just just loves looking at people and observing what they do.. I tell ya, if the he could talk, his most used phrases would probably be,
"..whadat, whadat, whadat.." and "..lemme see, lemme see, lemme see.."!! Haha..

Carol's Kitties..

Ooohh.. Blackjack's not a happy kitty! She looks kindda evil, doesn't she?
And, the timid Simba that I'd managed to hold long enough to take a pix..

The neighbourhood Alpha male.. I reckon this guy's my Chips' brother.. Well, they look about the right age and look kindda alike.. I know, I know.. all you non-cat people must be saying ".. but it's a cat.. they all look the same.."

And here are my kitties..

Tisha appreciating the new baskets.. ah yes.. comfortable enough to curl up and sleep in..

"What was that!!??" Firecrackers, Boo.. Chill and go back to sleep..

Boo and Girl on top of the fridge..

My Chips.. so handsome.. especially those pretty amber eyes..
