An afternoon at KLPac - 18 January 2009

KLPac had their open day, so Jasmin and I decided to go check it out... but not before a quick meal of KFC! Ahh... SO good! Yes, I LOVE KFC!! We got there at close to 3pm.. It was a nice sunny Sunday afternoon and the turnout was great!

I really liked the 'art piece' (for lack of a better term!) that hung in the lobby.. tho' made only of straw and string, it was well done and looked very cantik (hence the many pix! haha..)

The Indian drummers were on stage when we arrived, much to the delight of the audience. There was pretty much something happening at every corner, so there was lots to see and, if willing, do...

The tour of Pentas 1, the main theatre. Since we'd done some work here and were quite familiar with the venue, Jasmin and I decided to give the tour a miss..

Jasmin posing with one of the costumes on display at the foyer outside Pentas 1.. the beautiful view of the park from the foyer.. yes, it was a very nice day..

There were a variey of activities/workshops happening at all of the studios such as scriptwriting, drum introductory, tap, etc. ..
Seen here is, the obviously full, bharathanatyam (did I spell it right?) class..

Shoes for sale.. kidding! Participants of the flamenco class had to remove their shoes.. I suppose they couldn't rick having the amateurs stomping the beautiful floor to a tragic, premature death! Haha.. So, only the pro, the instructress, was allowed to wear her shoes..

The huge crowd that had gathered to watch the singing contest.. the "so-arty-I-couldn't-understand" dance performance outside - much to the delight of the mainly male audience! Well, it was an all-gal troupe and part of their routine involved rolling on the ground.. uh-huh..

There was a bazaar too at the courtyard and I managed to pick up a book.. Hmm.. I didn't even bother with the clothes, accessories, bags, shoes, etc. and simply gravitated to the book stall... Like, WOW!
We left at 5pm when the event wrapped up. Sadly, I didn't manage to see Socks, the resident cat, and her new kittens.. ah well, maybe next time..
