Hari Raya Lunch at Jasmin's - 2 October 2008

Daniel, Fred & I had gone over to Jasmin's for lunch last Hari Raya. We enjoyed it (the food, to be precise!) so much that we did not hesitate one bit to go again this year! Jasmin was also nice enough to invite Luke, Nigel and Aunty Connie to come along too.

Luke did not hesitate to accept (the lure of food!) and Aunty Connie was just as pleased to go, but Nigel was just not in the mood.. he was missing his parents, who were on holiday in Vietnam (with Jade). Nigel just pleaded tiredness (from watching too much cartoons???) and refused to go. Ah, well..

The gift for Jasmin from Daniel, Fred and me. Not bad, eh? Considering that it was not store bought - I assembled it all together.

The food was yummilicious! Nasi dagang with fish curry, acar, chicken, kuah kacang and nasi himpit.. All of us really enjoyed it, Luke especially - the boy had FOUR helpings!

Good food, good company, good conversations..

Dessert was equally abundant - there was tapai, ice cream or tapai AND ice cream if you like, chocolate cake, carrot cake, Sarawakian layer cake and an endless supply of red, juicy watermelons!

The last bits of carrot and chocolate cake didn't fare too well in the heat.. the Sarawakian layer cake stood pretty!

After all that fabulous food, plus the heat, eyelids were getting heavy and it was time to scoot before any of us nodded off at the table!
