Conference in Bangkok - 1 April 2008

Left for Bangkok on the 9.10am flight.. it was kindda exciting 'coz despite it being a 'business' trip and all, I'm sure the lot of us WILL make/find time to go out and have some fun! OK.. what conference is this? It's the Asia Pacific Network of Science & Technology Centres a.k.a "ASPAC" and for this year's conference, the big word is "SUSTAINABILITY".

Thankfully, we had nothing much to do officially, except register and attend the welcome reception in the evening. Even all that was pretty casual. Got to Bangkok by about 10.20am and headed straight for the hotel - Sofitel Centara Grand Bangkok.. nice..

Went for late lunch at this place call JJ Mall (near the weekend Chatukchak Market) and did a bit of shopping. Sadly, one of my colleagues, Hafeez, had lost his cell phone and was pretty bummed out.. Hung around the hotel and got ready to go for the welcome reception - ah, yes.. most of us couldn't wait for it to be over so we could go do more shopping!!!

Hafeez, his roomie, Asnam and I headed off to the Hard Rock as Hafeez, the avid HRC merchandise collector, whated to get some stuff. Walked around Siam Square for a bit, had supper at McD's and headed on back to sleep and be ready for the long day ahead the next day.. And, of course, I miss my kitties at home..
